Almost two decades ago, a kitsune who would come to be known as the GodSlayer appeared and began a reign of destruction in the world of Athenea. The GodSlayer sought to slay the nine Gods of the realm and very nearly succeeded, leaving many of the kingdoms of Athenea devastated or oppressed in his rampage.
Finally, a small band of Athenea's most elite warriors tracked the GodSlayer down and managed to slay him with his own sword. This did not turn out to be the victory they had hoped for.
The GodSlayer's death revealed that he had allowed himself to be possessed by the Yama King of Betrayal, Mastema, and the demon was set free. Loosed from the mortal shell of the GodSlayer, Mastema continued his rampage in the lands of Athenea and with each passing year, Mastema's reign of terror only draws closer to the last bastions of the world.
Now, a mysterious sorcerer who calls himself Dust has gathered a small band of companions to find a way to wield the one weapon he believes can destroy the Yama King. Jericho, Bella, and Akara ;have put their trust in Dust, following him into the depths of the Yama King's territory in search of the GodSlayer's sword...
