HOW I GOT HERE
I BUILT THE TEAM I NEEDED FOR MY FIRST COMIC
Hi, I'm Joel Rodriguez. In 2019, my wife, Chrissy, and I launched Metal Ninja Studios around my horror comic, The Dusk County Chronicles.
I knew the story. What I did not know was how many ways a comic could stall between the script, art, color, lettering, design, printing, and launch.
So I learned. I lettered. I designed. I managed production. Then other creators started asking us to help with their books.
That is when I realized the real problem was not a lack of stories. Creators needed one dependable team to get the work finished without taking their rights.
Concept to Comic™ grew out of that problem.
Creators should not have to build a comic company to make one.

Joel founded Metal Ninja Studios after learning comic production the hard way on his own comic.
A Ringo Award-nominated designer and former Head of Design at Scout Comics, he created Concept to Comic™ and now leads the company, oversees projects, speaks with prospective clients, and helps solve the problems that need senior attention.
Christina “Chrissy” Rodriguez
